Intake of anabolic steroids and some other medications is prohibited in numerous sports organizations, including the Major League Baseball (MLB). Sportspersons that are caught taking prohibited products are sentenced to bans, fines, etc. Although sportspeople know about these factors, many of them continue administering steroids and/or other banned drugs. As a result, several athletes spoil their athletic reputation totally. Nevertheless, some sportspeople succeed, if even they violate anti-doping rules.
Let take the MLB player Melky Cabrera as an example. This athlete played baseball for San Francisco Giants. He was considered to be one of the best baseball players. It was believed that he induced winning obviously. But after he tested positive for a steroid, he was suspended.
Melky Cabrera attempted to change the decision and appealed it. He stated that a dietary supplement caused his positive. Certain persons desired to help him in that situation. So, a fake site was created. An advertisement for a non-existing tainted supplement was posted. But the cheat was unmasked. The baseball player had to serve the suspension.
While he was banned, the San Francisco Giants saw that they could win without him.
Recently the Dominican baseball player obtained a $16 million contract. He will play for the Toronto Blue Jays.
As you see, application of steroids couldn’t destroy the athletic career of the Dominican baseball player. He continues to play baseball professionally and earn significant sums of money.
This is only an example which demonstrates that administration of banned preparations doesn’t destruct athletic careers in certain cases.
