Are tests for steroids and other related drugs effective?

Recently Alan Abramson published an article where he noticed whether tests conducted by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) were efficient.
The WADA conducts more and more tests for steroids and other related drugs every year. It seems that those that apply steroids and/or other related drugs are caught. One may think that the world of sports and bodybuilding will be soon cleansed from intake of banned drugs. For example, many tests for prohibited medicines have been conducted at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
But several questions appear here. Are these tests sophisticated enough to detect any person who dopes? Are these tests effective?
Let meditate over results of some tests. In 2010 the WADA published statistics according which 258,267 samples were analyzed by 35 WADA-accredited labs. Out of these samples 4,820 results represented atypical findings. Circa 60 % of positives indicated about usage of steroids. Numerous positives were for cannibinoids. 10 % positives were for marijuana. As you see, only 60% out of those who administered banned medications applied steroids. Is it real? Don’t manifest the results of the tests that the WADA doesn’t do the job properly?
Dick Pound, the former president of the WADA, believes that at least 10 % of sportspersons who competed at the 2012 Olympic Games used steroids. He notes that those steroid users that are not clever are caught by anti-doping agencies. He also notices that an athlete who has been caught using banned drugs will fail an IQ test. He concludes that only unwise athletes don’t avoid detection.
So, when you hear that the WADA has conducted many tests to make sports clean, think whether these statements are true. Has the WADA ability to make competitions fair? Why does the WADA note about number of tests?
It seems that the WADA only desires to convince people that the job is done suitably. The WADA tries to secure future funds. This is the reality.

Controversial opinions about steroids

There are disputable points of view about anabolic steroids. Consumers praise these products because they produce obvious positive effects. Experts conduct different studies, trying to determine whether these preparations are safe for administration. Sports organizations ban intake of these preparations because they have essential impact on performance. As for governments of certain countries, they have made purchases, application and distribution of anabolic steroids illicit. So, those who are caught violating these laws may be sentenced to a fine and/or imprisonment.
You may find many articles that demonize steroids for several crimes. Although there are many statements about these drugs, the most of people don’t comprehend the essence of these products.
Anabolic-androgenic steroids can increase muscle size and help to gain great strength. While anabolic features of these drugs induce building new muscles, androgenic properties are responsible for development of male sexual characteristics.
What induced creation of these preparations? It is known that there were a lot of battles between various cultures since ancient time. So, various cultures tried to elaborate something that could help soldiers to be brave and have strength enough to win. They utilized rhinoceros horn, shark tooth and other some extracts. Later testicles of animals started to be studied. It led to elaboration of anabolic steroids.
The hormone androstenone was isolated from many other substances in 1930 for the first time by the expert Adolf Butenandt. Then other types of hormones were synthesized. By 1939 the hormone testosterone, a basis of current anabolic steroids, was synthesized.
1940s and 1950s were years of great steroid development. Numerous studies were conducted in different countries in the whole world. Scientists studied impact of these drugs on performance of athletes and bodybuilders. Several doctors promoted usage of steroids among professional sports figures. One of them was John Ziegler. He administered Dianabol to Olympic athletes.
Steroids were also widely taken in the world of sports and bodybuilding in 1960s and in 1970. More than 50 % Olympic athletes used these preparations. However new kinds of tests were introduced by anti-doping officials, it was impossible to combat taking these drugs by sportspeople.
Nowadays more sophisticated tests for steroids and other related products have been introduced. Nonetheless, these preparations are still widely administered in the world of sports and bodybuilding. Smart consumers know certain methods to use steroids and remain undetectable.

Why do non-competitive bodybuilders use steroids?

It is affirmed that the most of steroid users are professional athletes and high school students that go info sports. It seems to be true because anabolic steroids have capacity to induce enhancing muscle mass and strength. These are effects that appreciated by athletes because they put efforts to win competitions. Furthermore, you read numerous articles which describe steroid scandals that occur in sports: in Major League Baseball, National Football League, Olympics, etc. You become convinced that steroids are such preparations that are chiefly spread in sports. You also read many pieces of news that notice about administration of performance-enhancing drugs by high school students that look at professional sportspersons and want to become so well-known, as they are.
But Lena Butler, a sportswriter, affirms that the most part of steroid users are not sportspersons. The most of steroid users are bodybuilders that don’t participate in any competitions. Thus, non-competitive bodybuilders compose 80 % of steroid users. The most of them are young: over the age 25. These are individuals who work as military professionals, police officers, etc. So, these are those who have such jobs which require strength. They take steroids for enhancement of their strength and do their jobs appropriately.
It is also interesting to note that a lot of individuals that have own business use steroids. They have enough money to look attractively. Thus, they take steroids to improve physique and escape from aging signs.
As for high school students that are involved in sports, they take steroids because they desire to have success in sports. These individuals desire to win competitions, become well-known and get millions of dollars. Steroid-using famous sportspersons have significant impact on the decision of high school students to take steroids. In fact, it is dangerous. Health of high school students may be affected because of steroids obviously. Unfortunately, this group of steroid users doesn’t want to alter their attitudes to steroids. Although they are informed about risks linked with steroids for young users, they continue to administer steroids. The number of high school students that apply these medications rises. If certain years ago 1% of high school students took steroids, today the number is doubled.
Although there is a tendency to condemn steroids, it is necessary to keep in mind that these drugs are taken not only for enhancement of performance. They are useful for medical needs. Health care providers recommend these products for persons that suffer from various health problems. These products are recommended for patients with cancer. HIV/AIDS- patients administer steroids in order to combat muscle wasting. These medicines efficiently treat other conditions too.

Health problems caused by administration of steroids

Nobody can contest benefits which are produced by administration of steroids. Consumers of these products add energy and increase their muscle mass. As a result, those who compete in sports win medals. But there is  a bad piece of news here. Anabolic steroids, like any other drugs, may lead to unwanted effects. Functions and even structure of some organs can be destroyed on account of steroid use.
That’s why before applying anabolic steroids it is needed to know about each potential undesirable effect that may occur because of these medicines. It is reasonable to learn information about these preparations before you make a final decision to use them. You should know that several unwanted consequences of these preparations may be even irreversible.
It is also necessary to know recommendations linked with administration of steroids and follow them. Improper usage may cause fatal unwanted effects.
There are also guidelines that teach how you can decrease risks linked with several undesirable consequences or reduce their severity. Those who have appropriate trainings during steroid use, apply standard measures, have proper diets and apply several ancillary products for reduction of undesirable effects will not experience grave health problems.
Dangerous  side effects ordinarily trouble those that apply increased quantities and don’t follow other important indications.
However it is stated that soon application of steroids will become safe, you may see that this time has not come yet. That’s why you must know about all probable dangers in order to prevent some problems or at least to decrease severity.
The most common troubles connected with application of steroids are listed below:
- liver dysfunctions;
- kidney problems;
- skin problems;
- cardiovascular diseases;
- psychological troubles;
- troubles related to reproductive system.
Why may be liver affected by steroids? Let explain. Toxins are contained in steroids. The body tries to get rid of them. Liver takes part in this process actively.  So, its functions may be disordered because of the toxins contained in steroids. Cysts and tumors may appear. It is true also about kidneys that also play great role in excretion of toxins. It is known that toxins may be also excreted through skin. That’s why  typical side results of steroids include acne formation, oily skin and other related problems.
Steroids may also enhance cholesterol levels; thus, arteries around the heart are blocked; blood clots are formed. The heart may become unable to circulate the blood through the body appropriately. Hypertension may also trouble steroid users. Even heart attacks may be caused by steroid use.
Psychological health may be destructed by steroids too. Those that use these products may become aggressive; they may experience unusual changes in mood and depression. Other mental problems may occur too.
As for reproductive system, it may be destructed as well. Male users of steroids may suffer from shrunken testicles, hypertrophy of prostate, abnormal development of breast tissue, infertility, etc. Female consumers of steroids may face such problems, as changes in size of clitoris, hirsutism, irregularities in menstrual cycles, etc.
Unfortunately, steroids can have negative impact on other systems too. Only the most usual unwanted reactions are mentioned in the article.

Pharmaceutical companies develop new drugs to treat erectile dysfunctions

Certain health troubles appear in many people and destroy good life. One of such diseases is erectile problems. This condition occurs in 50% of males that are over 40 years old. Undoubtedly, this is an unpleasant condition which may affect relations between partners. Males try to get rid of this condition. There are several preparations that are indicated to treat erectile troubles. Viagra, Levitra and Cialis are claimed to be the best remedies for this purpose.
Numerous pharmaceutical companies understand that the medicines that are prescribed for treatment of erectile problems are in a high demand. They receive 500-600 million dollars for the preparations which are recommended in case of this problem in men. Thus, pharmaceutical companies see that they may receive even greater profits, if they introduce new efficacious preparations for this purpose. Of course, they put efforts to do it.
Recently several new products for treatment of erectile troubles have been developed. But they should be approved by the FDA before they may be bought and applied legally. These products include Avanafil, Zoraxel, Zydena (Udenafil) and Bremenalotide.
Let present substantial information about each of these products.
The pharmaceutical company Vivus has created the medicine Avanafil. Several studies have displayed that benefits of this medication become obvious just 15 minutes after it has been applied. But the FDA has not yet approved this preparation. So, it is necessary to wait till its safety will be proven.
The pharmaceutical company Rexahn Pharmaceuticals has developed the product Zoraxel. It influences on the brain, treating erectile troubles. It is supposed that this product will get the FDA’s approval by 2013.
The preparation Zydena has been created by the Korean pharmaceutical company by Dong-A Pharmaceuticals. Certain studies have displayed that this is an efficient medication for treatment of erectile troubles. While Malaysians and Russians may take it, Americans don’t have access to this medication because it has not been yet approved by the US FDA. It is claimed that Zydena works more quickly than Viagra.
The preparation Bremelanotide has been developed by Palatin Technologies. This preparation has certain priorities over others. It is useful for both men and women that have sexual problems. Moreover, it has capacity to increase sexual arousal and desire, influencing on central nervous system.
These are new medicines will be recommended to cure erectile troubles. We may hope that they will have capacity to improve quality of men’s health.

Administration of steroids by teenagers

If you belong to those that read news about steroids, you may claim that almost each article mentions about “roid rage” that is claimed to be one of the most dangerous negative effects of these medicines. Anabolic steroids are demonized for several violations, murders and other crimes. It is said that these products can cause uncontrolled aggression which is responsible for abnormal behavior. Although it is not proven scientifically whether steroids may really lead to “roid rage”, media mentions about this undesirable consequence too frequently. Unfortunately, some other dangerous negative reactions are rarely mentioned in news.
Teenagers should be especially warned about several specific undesirable effects which can trouble them, if they apply steroids in their adolescent years. The specialists Leslie Henderson and Ann Clark of the Giesel School of Medicine in Dartmouth confirm that these medicines can have very negative impact on adolescents’ brains. These specialists have conducted certain researches and made conclusions, basing on the results of their researches. These scientists claim that steroids can cause in adolescents something more dangerous than uncontrolled aggression.
According to Leslie Henderson and Ann Clark, steroids are too dangerous for adolescents because this group of users may have some specific serious undesirable effects that don’t trouble adult consumers of steroids. The professors note that steroids may affect the brain in adolescents. So, the brain’s structure and functions may be destroyed in teenagers because of steroids. Furthermore, these unwanted effects may be permanent. It means that brain’s dysfunctions which are manifested through uncontrolled behavior may present even when the teenagers grow up. So, negative psychological effects may be manifested even in their adulthood.
But it is necessary to mention that the studies conducted by Leslie Henderson and Ann Clark have enrolled animals. So, these affirmations are made on the basis of animals’ reactions to steroid use. One may doubt whether effects of steroids on teenagers’ brains are the same as those on animals. Nonetheless, Leslie Henderson is sure that these affirmations are true for humans as well.
Moreover, it has been determined that negative results of steroids on teenagers are more lasting than those that occur in adult steroid users.
Leslie Henderson collaborates in her researches with such specialists, as Marie Onakomaiya, Donna Porter and Joseph Oberlander.
Leslie Henderson affirms that it is evident that steroids affect teenagers’ behavior. As we know, behavior is controlled by brain. Since behavior is abnormal, the brain’s structure and functions have certain disorders.
Thus, it is important to warn adolescents about all probable dangers linked with administration of steroids. If they know about these probable undesirable consequences, they will be capable to make a right decision linked with steroids.

Wade Boggs: steroid users should not be in Hall of Fame

What do retired baseball players claim about steroid use? This is the question which is often asked by journalists and widely discussed by media. Various individuals have different ideas about this issue.
Recently several retired players of the Major League Baseball were interviewed by several reporters who tried to learn opinions of the retired players about the steroid era in baseball. Should steroid users be in the Hall of Fame?
Reggie Jackson, Goose Gossage, Dave Henderson, Curt Schillling, Mike Piazza, George Brett and Morgan Ensberg don’t want to see consumers of steroids in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Later a journalist asked Wade Boggs about this issue as well. This athlete played professional baseball for 18 years. He was asked whether steroid users could be allowed to be chosen for the Hall of Fame. The former baseball player noted that steroid users must not be chosen for the Hall Of Fame. According to his opinion, it is not the best message for American youth. No one should be allowed to be in the Hall of Fame and claim that he is one of the greatest players because he has used anabolic steroids. It is the bad message for the youth of the whole world.
When Wade Boggs was asked about Roger Clemens, Boggs said nothing unpleasant about him.
Roger Clemens was accused of lying before the Congress about intake of steroids and HGH. Obstruction of Congress, perjury and false statements were charges against this person. But recently he was acquitted by the jury. The decision of the jury dismissed the affirmation that Roger Clemens succeeded due to usage of prohibited drugs.
While Wade Boggs refused to say anything negative about Roger Clemens, he pronounced several harsh words about pitchers who use steroids and take unfair advantages.

Top Olympic weightlifters were suspended for intake of prohibited drugs

The top Olympic weightlifters Patrick Mendes and Joshua Gilbert were banned from “Average Broz’s Gymnasium” (Las Vegas, Nevada). They tested positive for prohibited drugs. Steroids were not the drugs applied by these sportsmen. They administered non-steroidal medications which are also forbidden under Code of the WADA.
Mendes tested positive for prohibited products in February 2012 before the United States Olympic Team Trials for Weightlifting set who would represent the US at the 2012 Olympic Games. The sportsman tested for HGH; as a result, he was sentenced to a suspension.
Joshua Gilbert tested positive for the diuretic medication furosemide at the 2012 National Weightlifting Championships. It was in March 2012.
Furosemide is a drug that is taken by those who take steroids in order to hide usage of steroids. Furthermore, this medicine helps athletes to lose weight in order to meet criteria of certain weight categories.  Weightlifting, boxing and wrestling are sports where athletes belong to certain weight classes.
HGH and furosemide are medicines which are prohibited by the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF). The anti-doping system of the IWF meets criteria of the WADA Code.
Mendes and Gilbert were trained by John Broz. Broz lived and trained with the prominent Bulgarian weightlifter Antonio Krastev during his career. Krastev broke a world record snatch of 216 kg in 1987. John Broz studied the Bulgarian system of trainings and brought some methods to America. He founded own training facilities in Las Vegas.
Mendes was sentenced to 2-year ban. As for Gilbert, he was sentenced to 3-year suspension.
The bans of these weightlifters are failure for “Average Broz’s Gym”. So, the greatest weightlifters were not allowed to represent their home country at the 2012 London Olympics.

Larry Olubamiwo used certain steroids, EPO, IGF-1 and other doping products

The boxer Larry “War Machine” Olubamiwo administered several anabolic steroids, HGH, IGF-1 and other related drugs during 6 years. However certain tests have been conducted earlier, he was caught just in January 2012. After a fight against Sam Sexton Larry Olubamiwo tested positive for prohibited medications. Metabolites of steroids were not found in his sample. The boxer tested positive for EPO. EPO is a blood boosting medicine.
Long-term application of prohibited medications by Olubamiwo was a real embarrassment for the United Kingdom Anti-Doping. Andy Parkinson, the CEO of the UKAD, tried to prove that the ban of Olubamiwo for administration of 13 different forbidden products is a real success of the UKAD in the struggle against doping.
Andy Parkinson affirmed that it was an unusual case. The boxer used steroids and other related medicines for prolonged time without fear to destroy his health, career and reputation. He was sentenced to 4-year ban.
But the alarming fact is following: Olumamiwo could avoid detection for long time, despites great efforts of anti-doping officers to “clean” sports from administration of doping preparations.
Olubamiwo was caught only because the UKAD was informed by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) that he was implicated in an investigation related to illegal sale of anabolic steroids and other doping drugs in the US. Then the UKAD conducted a test which resulted in positives for EPO.
Robert Smith, the General Secretary for the British Boxing Board of Control, supported the statements of Andy Parkinson about efforts and success of anti-doping agencies. He affirmed that the case demonstrated that cheating couldn’t be hidden.
What is your opinion about the case? Do positives for EPO and the suspension of Olubamiwo display that anti-doping officers succeed? Or does the case manifest that anti-doping system is not appropriate?
Everyone may make own conclusion. But it is clear that the sportsman could apply various prohibited medicines for six years without being detected by anti-doping officers.

Linda McMahon is criticized for steroid use in WWE

Linda McMahon puts essential efforts in order to prove that she is a politician that deserves to be trusted. She tried to get rid of steroid associations which have destroyed the reputation of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) throughout many years. Undoubtedly, her opponents always used possibilities to mention about great problems connected with application of steroids in the WWE.
Linda McMahon is the former President and CEO of the WWE. The WWE was established by her and her husband Vince McMahon in 1990. Almost 60% of the traded stock of the WWE is owned by them. They received great profits due to the WWE Empire. One billion dollars was earned by the McMahons due to the business connected with the WWE. Mrs. McMahon ended her tenure of the WWE in 2009 and started her political career. She joined the Republican Party seeking a Senatorial Seat for the State of Connecticut.  The woman wasted approximately 50 million dollars on the campaign. But she didn’t win. She lost to the Democratic Party. Now Linda McMahan is seeking the Republican nomination in order to replace Joe Lieberman, another retiring Senator for Connecticut’s State.
Since Linda McMahon got involved in politics, many individuals began to criticize her for steroid scandals that took place in the WWE.
A newspaper confirms that McMahon loves to note that she has created certain jobs but she doesn’t answers questions about the jobs. An article confirms that the CEO of the WWE ridicules unintelligent men that humble women and promotes application of steroids.
The WWE responded quickly to these affirmations. The Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications for WWE Brian Flinn has pointed out that the WWE cares about health of wrestlers and random drug testing demonstrates that the WWE is against steroid use. At least 4 random tests are conducted per year for each wrestler. Those who test positive for banned drugs are sentenced to suspensions. Thus, the WWE prohibits application of steroids. Furthermore, Brian Flinn has noticed that the WWE has one of the most skillful wellness systems in sports and entertainment.

Victor Conte: anti-doping system is full of lacks

Recently Victor Conte, the founder of BALCO, shared his thoughts about testing program of anti-doping agencies and the current state of doping in sports.
Victor Conte has claimed that it is unlikely that the 2012 Olympic Games would be free from usage of steroids and other forbidden preparations. Conte said in an interview that Olympic anti-doping testing policy had various flaws. So, steroid users were also chosen to compete at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Victor Conte doesn’t believe that intake of banned products has reduced. He doesn’t agree with persons who confirm that reduced performance in different sports proves that steroids and other related medicines are almost excluded from sports.
The founder of BALCO confirms that steroids are widely taken now too. Efforts of anti-doping agencies led to adoption of sportspersons. So, athletes don’t use as high measures as have been applied before.  Nevertheless, intake of steroids and other doping medications remains to be a concern.
The founder of BALCO is sure that sportspersons don’t administer such designer steroids, as THG. Instead of taking such drugs, athletes use the steroid testosterone that is claimed to be the grandfather of all steroids.  Victor Conte adds that since testosterone is fast-acting and it is purchasable in form of creams, gels, patches and injections, it is widely administered by sportspeople. Moreover, not too high doses of testosterone are required in order to get great results. This steroid is popular among professional baseball players.
Victor Conte criticizes anti-doping system. He affirms that anti-doping agencies have essential ambiguities. Even a truck may go through loopholes that are in doping rules, according to the founder of BALCO.

Appearing of steroid scandals

Journalists are used to exaggerate any case related to steroids in sports and bodybuilding. Many facts are provided in misleading ways. Thus, steroid scandals appear without any basis. Here is the case.
Rano Izhar, the president of the Singapore Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (SBFF), has admitted that he shared recommendations connected with application of anabolic steroids.
Any individual that belongs to the world of bodybuilding knows that steroids, HGH and some other related medications are widely spread and applied by bodybuilders. Several news websites have written many articles, presenting the actions of the SBFF president as a steroid scandal. But be reasonable! He has not distributed anabolic steroids, he has just spread information.
”The New Paper”, a Singapore’s newspaper”, got emails between a bodybuilder and the president of the SBFF that were written before Izhar became the president. Izhar provided recommendations related to steroids cycles to the bodybuilder. The cycles suggested usage of 14 various preparations, including such steroids, as Anadrol 50, Dianabol, Primobolan Depot, etc. Clomid was also included in the cycles.
Izhar specified that the instructions were just for his friend that was an amateur bodybuilder. Furthermore, he was not the president of the SBFF, when he provided the recommendations.
Izhar’s friend planned to use steroids. He decided to do it. Izhar didn’t promote it. He just desired to help his friend. He wished he took steroids in the safest way.
Izhar admitted to providing recommendations related to steroid cycles. He affirmed that he needed to tell his friend which medicines were effective and which products didn’t work well. Izhar added that when anyone asked him about ways to use steroids, it meant that they would apply them, regardless of the answer. Thus, the president just felt that he had to note at least the most important things that should be known about steroids.
Izhar has acquired the degree of Doctor in “lifestyle medicine” at the Harvard Medical School. He realized that he had to do everything he could for harm reduction for those that use steroids and other related drugs.

Steroid investigation that lasted in Poland over one year turned out to be successful

You must have observed that the US put efforts to bust multinational companies that advertise steroids on internet and ship them to clients around the world.
Recently the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has collaborated with Polish police officers in order to catch persons that have been suspected in shipment of steroids and other bodybuilding medications to various countries of the world.
This investigation started approximately one year ago. The polish Border Guard Straz Graniczna intercepted large amounts of steroids that were shipped to individuals in the US and Canada. Injectable and oral steroids were confiscated at the Warsaw mail terminal.
Straz Graniczna worked together with US DEA. Finally 2 persons from Poland were arrested. One of them was arrested, after he left the post office. More than 7, 000 steroid pills and 19, 000 steroid vials and 47, 000 Polish zloty or over 14, 000 US dollars were discovered in this man’s car. But it was just the beginning of seizures.
It was determined that an apartment located in Warsaw was a base of the underground lab that manufactured steroids which are usually administered by American bodybuilders. When police officers raided the apartment, they found drug paraphernalia there. The apartment was utilized not just for manufacture of steroids but also for storage of prepared steroids. Circa 666, 000 steroid pills, 19, 000 vials of steroids and more than 5, 000 steroid ampoules were seized during the raid. The medications were estimated. The cost was claimed to be 6 million Polish zloty that are equal to 1, 8 million US dollars.
It is supposed that the US will ask Poland to extradite these two individuals.
The USA is aggressive, when it comes to struggle against steroids. International steroid companies are busted.
But the US doesn’t have significant success working with Europe and Asia. The US presses other countries to arrest and extradite steroid dealers.
Steroid dealers that were linked with British Dragon and Musclebear were arrested and extradited to the US from Thailand and Cyprus.
The US pressed Austria to arrest the steroid dealer Mihael Karner. So, he was arrested. Then the USA pressed Austrian authorities to extradite this individual to the US. But feds didn’t have success that time. Karner paid one million Euros to Austrian authorities to avoid the extradition and arrive to his home country Slovenia.

Jurors acquitted Roger Clemens

Names of twelve persons (4 men and 8 women) who acted as jury at the governmental case against the athlete Roger Clemens were released by the judge Reggie Walton.
The government wanted the jury to be convinced that the athlete had lied before the Congress about application of steroids and HGH. But since the jury didn’t believe it, the government criticized the individuals that acted as the jury. Certain persons who served as the jury were interviewed.
A political activist, an art historian, a teacher of deaf children, an official of Treasury Department and an employee of the Canadian Embassy were included in the jury.
The political activist Joyce Robinson-Paul was interviewed by the New York Daily News several days after the verdict. She confirmed that the jury understood that they had to be fair to both the government and the baseball player. But they didn’t find anything that had to be prosecuted.  Later she also claimed that the  federal prosecutors were not able to prove their accusations.
Bradford Weaver, an employee of the Canadian Embassy confirmed that the government acted wrongly. He noted that such situations should not be repeated. He also confirmed that there was nothing to be pursued. He was interviewed by the Associated Press. He also noticed that each juror was convinced from the very beginning that Clemens was not proven guilty of any charge. This person pointed that every juror was unanimous.
The employee of the Canadian Embassy was also asked whether he considered that Roger Clemens really administered steroids. Journalists of the Associated Press also asked him whether he considered that the governmental case against the athlete represented just the waste of taxpayers’ funds. But the employee of the Canadian Embassy didn’t answer the questions.
Another juror that chose not to be named confirmed that the jurors didn’t understand how the government made the decision to waste huge sums of money during 5 years in order to prosecute the athlete. This person confirmed that it was impossible to understand why the prosecution took place 5 years.
Other jurors didn’t present any information.
As for federal prosecutors, they were completely disappointed. They declined to respond to the statements pronounced by the jurors.
