Personal trainers of top athletes were arrested due to Operation Gilde in Norway

Norwegian police officers have busted a huge doping ring. More than 10 individuals connected with illicit operations were arrested. Six individuals went to jail.
According to news of the newspaper Dagens N?ringsliv (DN), the doping ring was established in Trondheim. DN published own investigation related to illicit distribution of anabolic steroids in Norway. Police investigated the case.
It is believed that a secret center is located in Trondheim. It administrates illicit sale of doping medicines and money laundering.
The arrested individuals were linked with bodybuilding, fitness and health industries in Norway. Several persons were arrested at their homes; others – in business offices, parking lots and tram stops.
Police officers believe that certain persons are hidden by the names of Guru and Karma.
Robert Eilertsen is one of those who have been arrested. He is a manager and editor of a fitness blog. This person coached famous sportspeople within football, boxing, handball, etc.
It is believed that Eilertsen and some other individuals have provided dangerous doping medicines to Norwegian youth during numerous years.
Circa 60 police officers were implicated in raids. The raids caused 11 arrests.
Since the investigation continues, police officers say nothing about their further actions.
Norwegian customs officers and tax authorities assisted the investigation.
Many computers and certain documents were seized during raids of homes, business officers, cars, etc.
Eilertsen and Gunnar Strand Jacobsen, another arrested man, have denied their links with doping medicines. Jacobsen is the owner of Kaliber Gym in Trondheim, one of the most well-known gyms in Norway. Jacobsen was personal trainer of sportspeople that obtained prizes. He coached sportspersons that attended to different sports. He is claimed to be an experienced nutrition expert.
The raid was called “Operation Gilde”.
Eilertsen and Jacobsen are accused in sale of doping preparations and money laundering.

International illegal drug ring that masked its profits by legal business was busted by Spain’s police

Spain’s police officials arrested Scott Boote, a person, who was involved in illicit actions connected with an international drug ring manufacturing stimulants that increase sexual desire. Huge quantities of preparations were seized by police officers. It was estimated the street value of these products. It was claimed that it was almost ?3 million. A Briton, a 72-year-old person from Liverpool, was also questioned. According to affirmations of police, these two men manufactured eight new sexual stimulants and offered them for sale via internet without examining patients. Six other persons were also questioned during this investigation. Investigators affirmed that the persons that were involved in this illegal drug ring purchased vehicles and another property due to distribution of illicit sex medicines. Several bank accounts were blocked by police. More than 100,000 dosages of anabolic steroids, properties and cars were confiscated.
A spokesperson for Spanish police affirmed that all members of the drug ring lived very luxuriously. They have many properties and luxury cars. They purchased properties abroad in order to hide the illicit business. Investigators determined that the ring offered for sale sexual preparations for both males and females. The medications were advertised on internet. Persons from the whole world could purchase the medicines. So, people from the USA, the UK, Thailand, Malaysia, etc. were customers that obtained medications from this ring. Three factories were established in Costa del Sol. Police officers suggest that those who were producing the medicines didn’t possess proper knowledge for this purpose. According to them, the persons who were implicated in the drug ring managed also legal business in order to hide the illicit one. They tried to give legitimate appearance to illicit operations. Certain commercial companies were established by these people in order to mask the profits obtained due to illegal drug trade.
Boxes which had to be sent to clients were also found by police officers. Anabolic steroids were also found and seized by law enforcement officers. The arrested persons also possessed packages, labels and leaflets.

Impact of steroids on drivers’ behavior

Although it is not yet proven scientifically whether “roid rage” is a side result of steroids, these medications are demonized for different criminal actions quite often.
Michael Barton, a man from Britain, hit a Ford Fiesta, while he was driving his Volkswagen Golf. Paul Gard was driving the Ford Fiesta. Barton had overtaken Paul Gard. But then Michael Barton had to pull back in front of him, since another car was driving the other way. Paul Gard flashed him. So, he had to brake suddenly. Barton became angered, stopped his Volkswagen Golf, broke the wing mirror of Paul Gard’s vehicle and hit Gard in the face. Then Gard’s wife took her mobile and informed police. While she was calling, Barton left calmly.
Michael Barton, a 21-year-old man who has a kid of two years old, utilizes steroids for bulking results. Thus, it has been confirmed that these medications affected his behavior. The defense attorney for this young person claimed that steroids influenced on temperament of his client, since these preparations enhanced his levels of testosterone.
Previously Michael Barton was convicted for some crimes, including domestic violence. Last year this young man pleaded guilty to an assault, criminal damage and driving carelessly because of his anger following assaults.
The judge Patrick Hooton at Portsmouth Crown Court Deputy Circuit claimed that he was not sure that steroids led to improper behavior. But he added that it was totally mad to become angered and hit a person in the face only because he flashed him. The judge confirmed that Barton’s behavior was very immoral and he announced: “you ought to go to prison”.
Thus, this person was given 6-month jail sentence suspended for a year; he was also sentenced to pay 500 dollars in compensation and ?277 for damage of the car.

Valuable properties of green and white tea for steroid users

Sportspersons become more and more sophisticated in administration of steroids. They find out new methods to hide their usage of forbidden medicines. Certain athletes take time to study researchers’ conclusions which may help them to hide that they dope. Today a method has been discovered: sportspersons may mask usage of testosterone by drinking of green tea.
Testosterone is a hormone that presents in body naturally. So, it can be difficult for anti-doping organizations to determine that a person has taken testosterone. T: E ratio testing is ordinarily used by anti-doping organizations. Such tests can show unusual ratio of testosterone to epitestosterone in urine. But it doesn’t have ability to manifest difference between testosterone which has been created in body naturally and that introduced into body with the help of injections, creams, etc.
Declan Naughton and his colleagues at Kingston University ( London) have discovered that green tea has such compounds that are called “catechins”. They have ability to inhibit the enzyme UGT2B17. This enzyme induces attaching glucuronic acid to testosterone. If UGT2B17 is inhibited, less testosterone glucoronide is excreted in urine.
Catechins, the substances that can mask administration of testosterone, are contained in green and white tea. Black tea lacks such compounds.
Naughton and his colleagues have conducted several experiments. They claim that a cup of strong green tea hides intake of testosterone.
Thus, those sportspersons that administer testosterone may decrease quantities of testosterone excreting in urine by consumption of green or white tea. Green or white tea can block excretion of testosterone, increasing circulating levels of this hormone.
The World Anti-Doping Agency was informed about the findings by the specialists. If this process occurs, it means that it is not worthy to subject sportspersons to urine tests. Blood tests should be performed in order to detect testosterone use.
Olivier Rabin, the WADA’s expert, confirms that regular checks of blood steroids will be added. Everything will be done by anti-doping agencies in order to prevent fooling of urine tests.

Australian company sent fake doping products to Wim Vansevenant

The case linked with Wim Vansevenant, a former Belgian rider, changed significantly. An analysis manifested that the doping medicines which were ordered by him didn’t contain the contents written on the labels. This former athlete was cheated by the company where he ordered the medicines.
Last year some packages sent to the former athlete by an Australian company were intercepted by customs officials. According to the labels of  the intercepted  bottles,  they contained the doping substance TB-500. It is a peptide hormone which has ability to induce increasing muscle power and promote healing. An investigation was started by the Belgian authorities. It was suspected that Wim Vansevenant supplied the Omega Pharma-Lotto team with doping products. This athlete rode professionally 10 years, from 1998 to 2008. Last 6 years of the career he was with this team.
An analysis of the bottles intercepted by customs illustrated that only amino acids were contained. Wim Vansevenant’s lawyer noted that the charges had to be dropped. He pointed out that since the drug was not related to doping, the former sportsperson didn’t deserve to be punished.
Johan Lescrauwaet, the prosecutor’s spokesperson affirmed that the contents didn’t correspond to the name of the medicine which was indicated on the label and to the words of the former sportsperson.
Only amino acids were discovered in the bottles. No any doping medication. Thus, there is no any evidence that Wim Vansevenant provided doping products to other individuals.
The hearing of the former Belgian rider was scheduled to be later.

Testimonies of toxicologist Bruce Goldberger in case related to Roger Clemens

Testimonies of the celebrated toxicologist Bruce Goldberger will probably influence essentially on decision of the court in the case against Roger Clemens. Bruce Goldberger is the Professor of Pathology and Director of Toxicology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. This expert didn’t testify on behalf of the government. However he was invited in order to replace Don Catlin, the director of the WADA UCLA Medicine, Goldberger’s testimonies differed from those which are commonly provided by anti-doping organizations. This toxicologist testified on behalf of the accused sportsperson.
Bruce Goldberger has gotten his celebrity due to his participation in different news programs. Even during such programs he doesn’t abstain from critical words. Bruce Goldberger criticized several anti-doping organizations, including the WADA.
Bruce Goldberger criticized feds in the case related to Roger Clemens. They based on “beer can evidence” presented by Brian McNamee to support that his client took steroids and HGH. Brian McNamee, the former personal coach of this sportsperson, provided a beer can containing used needles and syringes that had traces of such steroids, as Sustanon, Primobolan Depot and Deca Durabolin and were mixed allegedly with Roger Clemens’ blood.  The beer can was kept by McNamee over 6 years. The toxicologist argued that such basis wasn’t reasonable.
Bruce Goldberger claimed that it was impossible to base on “beer can evidence”. He added that no one could prove that Roger Clemens used steroids and HGH, basing on the beer can, because the theory of contamination could present.
Thus, Bruce Goldberger didn’t support the affirmations of the governmental agents. Earlier the toxicologist also expressed criticism related to evidence applied by several anti-doping organizations.
Some years ago Bruce Goldberger testified on behalf of Floyd Landis, an American celebrated cyclist, when this sportsperson appealed positives for steroids. A WADA-accredited lab located in France found traces of exogenous testosterone; T: E ratio and carbon isotope ratio tests were used by the lab. Goldberger used similar words and criticism during the appeal linked with Floyd Landis.
Bruce Goldberger noted during an interview that the WADA utilized unsuitable ways and violated rights of sportspersons in order to achieve the success in anti-doping programs.
As for Floyd Landis, he lost his appeal and admitted that he had administered steroids, EPO and some other related medications.
Nobody knows which results will be reached by Roger Clemens. Will the government prove that he has lied before the Congress? Will he admit to taking prohibited drugs? Or will be the results contrary?

Roger Clemens’ trial: lack of changes in physical appearance in him

Every baseball fan knows that Roger Clemens is charged with obstruction of justice. It is said that he has lied before Congress about usage of steroids and HGH.
The attorney Rusty Hardin pointed out that there was no any difference in physical appearance of Roger Clemens before, during and after his trainings with the coach Brian McNamee. The attorney confirmed that this factor was a proof that Roger Clemens hadn’t taken steroids and other related products.
Increase of muscle mass is ordinarily used by prosecutors as proof that a person administers steroids or/and other related medicines. But this tendency was not used during the case against Roger Clemens. Nobody could confirm that Roger Clemens’ muscles displayed that he had used steroids and HGH. It is one of differences between the case against Roger Clemens and that against Barry Bonds.
When it comes to the governmental case against Barry Bonds, federal prosecutors called many persons in the trial that could testify that anabolic steroids promoted great changes in physical appearance of this person. They affirmed that application of steroids caused enhancement of muscle size, enhanced size of the head and shrunken testicles in Barry Bonds.
Thus, Rusty Hardin showed four photos of Roger Clemens. The pictures manifested physical appearance of Roger Clemens, including the time when Clemens was working with the coach Brain McNamee. Hardin pointed out that the pictures showed that there were no changes in physical appearance that could support that he utilized steroids and HGH.
The attorney Rusty Hardin noticed that the pictures displayed only the process of ageing. The masseur Cheryl Redfern also confirmed that she didn’t observe any changes in physique of Roger Clemens. Roger Clemens experienced neither back acne, nor gynecomastia, nor dramatically increased muscle size.
Phil Garner, a former baseball player, also claimed that there were not any substantial changes in physical appearance and performance of Roger Clemens during working with the trainer Brian McNamee.
The Assistant US Attorney Steve Durham put efforts to discredit the affirmation about lack of physical changes in Roger Clemens during the cross-examination of Phil Garner. He claimed that while some steroids increased muscle size, others didn’t induce getting muscles. So, he confirmed that the photos could say nothing about steroid use.
Federal prosecutors desire to take advantages in both cases: in the case against Roger Clemens and in that against Barry Bonds. While they confirm that changes in physical appearance of Barry Bonds display that he has taken steroids, lack of physical changes in Roger Clemens doesn’t prove that he hasn’t administered steroids.

Steroids should not be blamed for massacre in Oslo

Anders Behring Breivik is a murderer of over 70 persons. He bombed buildings of government in Oslo (Norway). Certain teenagers of the Workers’ Youth League camp were also killed by this person on Utoya island in July 2011.
The killer prepared for the deadly actions significantly. He acknowledged that he had applied steroid cycles.  Since he applied steroids, these drugs were demonized for the deadly actions by numerous journalists.
But what did specialists say? Joerge Moerland, a professor of forensic toxicology at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, contested statements of these journalists. The toxicologist Moerland claimed that anabolic steroids should not be demonized for the crimes. But the toxicologist admitted that it was impossible to contest that these drugs could lead to aggressiveness in the murderer.
An ECA, a combination of caffeine, aspirin and ephedrine, was also applied by the murderer. In fact, this stack is normally utilized by bodybuilders in order to lose fat and stimulate themselves for workouts. It was defined that Breivik has applied great amount of the combination. The quantity taken by him was by 50 % high than it is allowed under rules of European Union.
The toxicologist Joerge Moerland affirmed that the killer’s behavior was more essentially influenced by the ECA than steroids. He pointed out that ephedrine might cause desire to be implicated in risky activities. Moerland claimed that the murderer’s central nervous system had been affected by ephedrine.
Nonetheless, the specialist Moerland noted about limitation of the ECA’ influence. The amount of caffeine consumed by Breivik was equal to circa 5 cups of coffee. So, the quantity was not enough great in order to be blamed for the massacre.
Breivik described his administration of steroids and dietary supplements in details. He also recommended other individuals getting steroids at Alinshop.
Breivik noted that he didn’t like Dianabol because it was able to cause water retention. He noted that Dianabol could add more body weight than one could carry. According to his statements, circa 50 % of the mass acquired because of Dianabol is liquid retention. The murderer decided to administer some stacks that were suitable for his purposes.
Breivik studied advantages and disadvantages of different steroids in order to choose those who were proper for his purposes. He confirmed that Testosterone Propionate was better than Dianabol. He also suggested that combinations of Dianabol with Aromasin or administration of Dianabol followed by intake of Winstrol could benefit obviously.
So, the murderer prepared for the massacre scrupulously. He spent time in order to study effects of steroids and plan steroid cycles and intake of dietary supplements. He also pondered about each aspect connected with attacks and murders.
Although several individuals confirmed that Breivik was legally insane, it’s wrong. It is obvious that he has done it consciously.

Illicit intake of steroids has become more spread in Australia due to motorcycle gangs

The newspaper “The Sydney Morning Herald” reports that illicit administration of steroids has become widespread in Australia due to outlaw motorcycle gangs. The gangs get high profit and low risks.
Nick Bingham, a detective, has said that New South Wales Police doesn’t focus on investigation connected with application of steroids but anabolic steroids become targets of investigations, when outlaw motorcycle gangs are arrested for violation of other laws.
According to Nick Bingham, although New South Wales policemen don’t raid houses of gangs for steroids, they find them, when searches for weapons and psychoactive drugs are conducted.
Bingham has claimed that they commonly seize such quantities of steroids from motorcycle gangs that are just for personal use. Amounts of other substances that are usually found in possession of gangs are much greater than those of steroids.
Nick Bingham has confirmed that criminals prefer using anabolic steroids in order to create threatening muscular bodies. They desire to look big and strong.
However Bingham is sure that gangs possess steroids just for personal intake, the newspaper “The Sydney Morning Herald” doesn’t agree with his point of view. It is reported that motorcycle gangs play great role in smuggling of steroids.
Although gyms are claimed to be the most important sources of steroids for bodybuilders, it is reported by “The Sydney Morning Herald” that certain gyms have direct connections with motorcycle gangs. The Herald confirms that many seizures made by the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service are related closely to distribution of steroids by motorcycle gangs.
According to reports of Australian Customs, mail seizures of steroids have been enhanced essentially in comparison with past years.
More than 2, 000 seizures were made in 2009-2010 and more than 5, 000 seizures of steroids were recorded in 2010-2011.
Numerous seizures were linked with personal application of steroids smuggled by bodybuilders.

David Segui assures that Brian McNamee has told him about steroid use by Roger Clemens

Federal prosecutors hope that the judge Reggie Walton will permit the former first baseman of the Major League Baseball David Segui to present testimony in the trial related to the case of Roger Clemens. This player had a conversation with Brian McNamee, the former personal trainer of Roger Clemens. It is confirmed that they have discussed about application of steroids by the former baseball star.
The former personal trainer of Roger Clemens was called to testify against his client because he turned out to be the only person that had direct knowledge about intake of steroids and other related medicines by Clemens. Moreover, he kept injection equipment: vials, syringes and needles which were allegedly mixed with the blood of Roger Clemens. DNA analysis was conducted in order to confirm whether the blood belonged really to Clemens.
Rusty Hardin, a defense attorney for Roger Clemens, confirmed that the steroid evidence was created by Brian McNamee after the questioning by federal prosecutors.
But prosecutors confirmed that David Segui told them that Brian McNamee said that he stored several things as evidence of steroid use by several players in 2001. It was certain years before Roger Clemens’ former trainer became the target of the investigation.
Information presented by David Segui to federal prosecutors differed essentially from that provided to the sportswriter Jim Baumbach. His affirmations provided to the sportswriter were published in an article in 2008. According to that piece of news, Segui claimed that he had never spoken about steroids with his friend Brian McNamee.
Segui learnt about implication of Brian McNamee into the trial of Roger Clemens just in 2006, when he read a piece of news in the Los Angeles Times.
David Segui was quite open in his discussions about personal usage of steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs. He said that players of the Major League Baseball asked him many times whether he had used steroids. The former Major League Baseball first baseman admitted that he had applied them. But David Segui noticed that he had never discussed about application of steroids with Brian McNamee.
Segui supported the decision of McNamee to save evidence about application of prohibited products by his clients. According to Segui, it is a proper decision because sometimes innocent persons are blamed but guilty individuals are covered. So, Brian McNamee could help to reveal the truth.
However federal prosecutors asked the judge Walton to permit Segui to provide testimony in the trial connected with Roger Clemens, the judge didn’t announce his decision yet.

Andre Berto didn’t provide any explanation about positives for Nandrolone

The Haitian-American professional boxer Andre Berto tested positive for the steroid Nandrolone. The Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA) conducted the drug testing.
This boxer had to meet Victor Ortiz on June 23, 2012 in Los Angeles. This boxer agreed to submit to random drug testing before the match. T: E ratio method and carbon isotope ratio testing were used; they both indicated about usage of Nandrolone.
It was already the second time this month, when the VADA tested boxers and caught them taking steroids. The first boxer that tested positive this month due to tests conducted by the VADA was Lamont Peterson. He had to fight against Amir Khan. It is quite ironically that Peterson requested random blood and urine testing. A carbon isotope ratio test conducted by the VADA showed that exogenous testosterone was in system of Peterson certain weeks before the match.
The tests conducted by the VADA influenced greatly on financial position of several companies. For example, Golden Boy Promotions lost significant potential profit due to Lamont Peterson’s positives. It was estimated by Richard Schaeffer, the CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, that the company lost 250, 000 dollars.
The cancelation of the fight between Andre Berto and Victor Ortiz will probably not cost so much because another boxer will possibly replace Andre Berto and will meet Ortiz.
Andre Berto didn’t explain what had led to his positives. He hired the attorney Howard Jacobs that would represent and defeat him.
Andre Berto said that he had never used steroids. Thus, he claimed that he investigated with his attorney what could lead to positives for steroids. The boxer Andre Berto concluded that he had never cheated; he succeeded in sport due to hard workouts and dedication.
The attorney Howard Jacobs defeated many other athletes that turned out to be victims of contaminated dietary supplements.
It is claimed that since the steroid Nandrolone has very long half life and it is detected easily, it is not very popular among doping athletes. But it has been defined numerous times that several dietary supplements contained the ingredient nandrolone that caused positives for steroids. But since sometimes not every compound is listed on the label, athletes become victims of contaminated dietary supplements.

Fight against Anderson Silva and steroid user is scheduled to be in July 2012

The American mixed martial artist Chael Sonnen is allowed to apply anabolic steroids. The doctor Timothy Trainor claimed that this sportsperson really had hypogonadism.
What does this disorder represent? Hypogonadism is linked with insufficient secretion of testosterone. Doctors commonly recommend hormone replacement therapy in order to treat this disorder.
Chael Sonnen has gotten a therapeutic use exemption (TUE). Thus, this athlete is allowed to apply steroids for clinical needs and fight against Anderson Silva at UFC 148 in July 2012.
According to indications given by Sonnen’s doctor, he has to introduce injections of Testosterone Enanthate and Testosterone Cypionate twice per week. The measures that are prescribed have not been disclosed. But under establishments of the Nevada Athletic Commission, blood serum levels of testosterone in Chael Sonnen must be within normal range on the morning after the match with Silva.
According to the doctor Trainor, those that compete with TUE should be tested on the morning after the match to find out whether they have taken something right before the fight.
Trainor thinks that testosterone is able to produce performance-enhancing effects, if it is administered right before the fight. He states that injections must not be applied in the days before a fight to prevent increased testosterone levels.
But it seems that the NAC is not aware that steroids produce effects linked with enhancement of performance, not only if they are administered right before competitions. Administration of steroids influences greatly on performance during trainings before competitions. And the effects remain even after users stop taking them.
The fighter Chael Sonnen had elevated testosterone levels at UFC 117. He claimed that he had tested positive because he had been on TRT.  He appealed his suspension and it was reduced to 6 months from one year. But Chael Sonnen didn’t have any TUE that time.

Galabin Boevski wanted to smuggle 8 kg of cocaine

The Bulgarian weightlifter Galabin Boevski was sentenced to nine months in jail because of illicit international drug trade. He was arrested in October 2011 at the Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil after he attempted to board the plane with 8 kg of cocaine. He was headed to Bulgaria. Cocaine was estimated. It could be sold at the price of 500, 000 dollars on the streets in European countries.
Galabin Boevski is a celebrated person in Bulgaria. He is claimed to be one of the most celebrated weightlifters in this country.
First he was caught administering steroids in 1995. Undoubtedly, he was sentenced to suspension.
Then this sportsman was caught administering banned drugs in 2004. It was the second time when he broke doping laws. In fact, Boevski didn’t test positive for any forbidden preparations. But anti-doping officials defined that he didn’t provide own urine. The urine which was provided by this sportsman belonged to another person. As a result, Galabin Boevski received 8-year suspension. During serving the suspension he was caught smuggling cocaine.
Boevski became prominent due to his success in weightlifting. This person won gold medals at certain competitions: at the 1999 World Weightlifting Championships in Athens, the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and the 2001 World Weightlifting Championships in Antalya.
At the 2003 World Championships in Vancouver this weightlifter and his teammates from Bulgaria provided urine samples which belonged to another individual. It was defined by anti-doping officials that the three urine samples belonged to one individual. These athletes received suspensions. Boevski appealed the suspension but it was not successful.
Boevski broke certain world records at different competitions. He held three world records. The best lifts of this person were following: a 162, 5 kg snatch, 196, 5 kg clean and jerk and a 357, 5 kg of two lifts at the 1999 Championships.
It is strange but Boevski’s reputation wasn’t spoiled in Bulgaria. He utilized his status of celebrity in sports in order to launch a Technogym fitness center in Sofia. The center was called Atama Wellness and Spa.
Moreover, Maria Isabel do Prado, the Brazilian judge, claimed that Boevski used also his status of celebrity in sports in order to traffic the narcotic cocaine. She also noted that this weightlifter utilized the participation of his daughter in a Brazilian tennis tournament to hide his illegal operations related to smuggling of the narcotic.
Galabin Boevski confirmed that he would appeal the conviction.

Testimony of Andy Pettitte provided at court related to Roger Clemens was shocking

The desire of the federal government linked with the case of Roger Clemens was following: they wanted to prove that this athlete had lied before the Congress about usage of anabolic steroids and HGH. But the government couldn’t reach this goal. It was expected that Andy Pettitte would tell the jury that Roger Clemens had acknowledged that he had applied the forbidden medications during a conversation in 1999 or in 2000. But the affirmation of Andy Pettitee was shocking for prosecutors. This man said that he couldn’t confirm that Roger Clemens had used steroids and HGH because he was not sure.
Actually, did the testimony of Andy Pettittte shock the prosecutors of Roger Clemens? This man swore for the 2008 Congressional hearings on application of steroids in the Major League Baseball that Roger Clemens admitted to usage of HGH. But he pronounced opposite testimony at the Barrett Prettyman Federal Courthouse in Washington.
Michael Attanasio, a defense attorney for Roger Clemens, asked Andy Pettitte whether he can say that he is 50-50 that he has understood wrongly Roger Clemens about HGH. Andy Pettitte answered that he is actually 50-50 about this aspect.
When the prosecutors heard the answer of Andy Pettitte, they became confused. They stated that Pettitte never answered this way, when he was asked several times.
The judge Reggie Walton noticed that he understood that Andy Pettitte’s answer has been conflicted. Actually, his testimony was following: “I don’t know”.
The attorneys for Roger Clemens used the moment of the federal prosecutors’ embarrassment. They asked the judge to brush aside the testimony of Andy Pettitte because he was 50-50. The attorneys claimed that he probably misunderstood Roger Clemens or he forgot the details of the conversation.
The government has stated that the jury still allows considering the affirmation of Andy Pettitte. ASUSA Dunham has pointed out that under federal rules jury is allowed to choose which testimony to believe. He hopes that the jury will disregard the testimony that doesn’t support the government.
So, the testimony provided by Andy Pettitte and his wife led to problems. Testimonies of his wife during the first trial led to the declaration of a mistrial by the judge Walton.
Pettitte confirms that he is Roger Clemens’ friend. Clemens must also confirm that they are friends after Andy  Pettitte’s last testimony.

Steroid use led to crimes

Police officers raided Cullen Mutrie’s house for a steroid investigation. This ma shot 5 police officers at his home. One of them, the Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney,  was killed; 4 police officials were wounded. The next morning this killer and a woman were found dead.
It is supposed that Mutrie was applying steroids at the time of the shootout. Jane Young, the New Hampshire Associate Attorney General, noted that toxicology reports were waiting in order to learn whether metabolites of steroids were in the body of this person.
Police officials affirmed that Mutrie had been a muscular person. He worked at Genetix Fitness in Seabrook. It was described that he was 6 feet 3 inches tall. Cullen Mutrie weighed 275 pounds. During a raid which was in July 2010 police officers found anabolic steroids at his home. The police officer Wayne Young found them in a coffee table. He said that he had noticed a plastic bag with several vials. One vial was with powder; others contained liquid. The labels indicated that they were steroids.
The New Hampshire State Crime Lab analyzed the vials. It was affirmed that the vials contained such medicines, as Trenbolone Acetate, Sustanon 250, Boldenone Undecylenate and Nandrolone Decanoate.
John Miller, a professor of kinesiology, was asked whether a connection between the deadly actions and “roid rage” of anabolic steroids could present. The specialist said that it was plausible. But according to him, it is impossible to conclude that there was a direct connection between administration of anabolic steroids and the shootout.
John Miller suggested that steroids which were on the black market were provided from legal pharmaceutical companies. But he has been mistaken because the majority of steroids that are sold on the black market are produced in underground labs. It is even suggested that Mutrie manufactured steroids.
Since a connection between crimes and usage of steroids is a controversial question, not only police officials but also media investigates the case connected with this killer.

Why did Alistar Overeem test positive for steroids?

Alistar Overeem, a mixed martial artist, appealed his suspension that was received by him for administration of anabolic steroids in April 2012. But Alistar Overeem couldn’t win his appeal against members of NSAC. This fighter lost his license for nine months. Then he will be allowed to receive it back.
Alistar Overeem acknowledged that he had utilized injectable testosterone which was advised him by his physician. Alistar Overeem utilized the strategy that was considered to be boring. He claimed that he had never administered anabolic steroids or other related products intentionally. Alistar Overeem tried to make the NSAC believe that his injectable administration of steroids was accidental.
David Chenoff, the defense attorney for Alistar Overeem, is experienced in representing well-known sportspersons.
David Chesnoff called the personal doctor of Alistar Overeem to testify during the hearing. It was suggested that Dr. Molina would testify in defense for this fighter. Testimonies of this doctor were quite poor. The physician Molina provided an explanation for recommendations of several medicines which led to Overeem’s enhanced testosterone: epitestosterone ratio.
The treating doctor of Alistar Overeem admitted that he prescribed and injected this athlete with a mixture of Toradol and Dexamethasone because he had an injury. In fact, these medications are utilized for anti-inflammatory purposes. But usage of testosterone in case of injuries is not approved by the FDA.
It is suggested that the health care provider Molina hasn’t warned this sportsman that these drugs contain the anabolic steroid testosterone. But it is obviously that he has never asked about it.
Thus, testimonies of the health care provider Molina turned out to show lack of the evidence connected with clinical purposes for intake of prohibited products by Alistar Overeem. The doctor couldn’t provide any reasonable explanation that could justify prescribing of Toradol and Dexamethasone to his patient. Testimonies of the physician Molina worked against Alistar Overeem.
In fact, it became evident that Alistar Overeem was a victim of the physician’s quack.
But it is possible to suggest that this strategy was designed by the defense attorney for this sportsman.
Pat Lundval, a commissioner, was probably impressed by the defense of Alistar Overeem. She even referred to him as to a “smart guy”.
The members of the NSAC seemed to be convinced that Alistar Overeem has been actually a great guy but he has surrounded himself with such questionable persons, as the doctor Moline. They advised him to find more qualified professionals in the future.
