Personal trainers of top athletes were arrested due to Operation Gilde in Norway


Norwegian police officers have busted a huge doping ring. More than 10 individuals connected with illicit operations were arrested. Six individuals went to jail.
According to news of the newspaper Dagens N?ringsliv (DN), the doping ring was established in Trondheim. DN published own investigation related to illicit distribution of anabolic steroids in Norway. Police investigated the case.
It is believed that a secret center is located in Trondheim. It administrates illicit sale of doping medicines and money laundering.
The arrested individuals were linked with bodybuilding, fitness and health industries in Norway. Several persons were arrested at their homes; others – in business offices, parking lots and tram stops.
Police officers believe that certain persons are hidden by the names of Guru and Karma.
Robert Eilertsen is one of those who have been arrested. He is a manager and editor of a fitness blog. This person coached famous sportspeople within football, boxing, handball, etc.
It is believed that Eilertsen and some other individuals have provided dangerous doping medicines to Norwegian youth during numerous years.
Circa 60 police officers were implicated in raids. The raids caused 11 arrests.
Since the investigation continues, police officers say nothing about their further actions.
Norwegian customs officers and tax authorities assisted the investigation.
Many computers and certain documents were seized during raids of homes, business officers, cars, etc.
Eilertsen and Gunnar Strand Jacobsen, another arrested man, have denied their links with doping medicines. Jacobsen is the owner of Kaliber Gym in Trondheim, one of the most well-known gyms in Norway. Jacobsen was personal trainer of sportspeople that obtained prizes. He coached sportspersons that attended to different sports. He is claimed to be an experienced nutrition expert.
The raid was called “Operation Gilde”.
Eilertsen and Jacobsen are accused in sale of doping preparations and money laundering.
