The BOA confirms that 2-year suspensions are not sufficient penalties for usage of steroids

The British Olympic Association tries to justify itself for the fact that it violates rules of the World Anti-Doping Agency. According to rules of the WADA, punishment for administration of anabolic steroids and other related preparations must be the same in the whole  world. The punishment which is indicated for an athlete who has applied banned drugs for the first time is sentencing to bans of 2 years.
But the British Olympic Association thinks that such penalty isn’t good enough. The BOA sentences consumers of steroids for life-time bans from taking part in the Olympic Games. The WADA confirms that this rule of the BOA contradicts the WADA Code that is unvarying.
Lord Moynihan, the chairman of the BOA, hasn’t agreed to concede. As a result, a hearing has been scheduled to be at a Court of Arbitration for Sports in London.
The athletes that had applied prohibited substances were suspended by the International Olympic Committee from participations in Olympics under the Osaka Rule.
Lord Moynihan claimed that the law of the BOA related to life-time bans wouldn’t be cancel, if even the CAS would not support it. The BOA confirms that it has the best rules.
The chairman of the BOA supported statements written by the former British Olympic decathlete Daley Thompson that noted that British laws related to administration of prohibited preparations were the best. He noted that they shouldn’t be overthrown by the rest part of the world.
Delay Thompson believes that dopers should be punished strictly. They should be suspended for the whole life. According to his statements, the BOA shouldn’t agree with the rule of the WADA to sentence dopers just for 2-year bans. He confirms that the Britain desires to have the highest sport standards. He states that if the rest part of the world doesn’t desire to have high standards, it doesn’t mean that Britain must follow their reduced levels.
David Howman, the director general of the WADA, criticizes words pronounced by Daley, noticing that steroid testing has been just on its early level of development, when he has won his gold medals in Olympics in Moscow and Los Angeles.
Travis Tygart, the CEO of the US Anti-Doping Agency, criticizes the BOA for its refusal to agree with the rules of the WADA. It seems to be strange that Travis Tygart who always criticizes cheaters blames the BOA for the strict law.
Travis Tygart confirms that since international laws have been once established and all have agreed to them, everyone should follow them.
