Some improper laws are claimed to be results of certain misconceptions linked with steroids

Many persons suppose that “roid rage” or uncontrolled aggressive behavior is a common unexpected reaction that appears in those who take steroids. Moreover, several persons consider that it is even impossible to avoid this undesirable result, if you take steroids. Nevertheless, it is not proven scientifically that it is a real side symptom of anabolic steroids. But even if we suppose that it exists, it may occur only in small number of steroid users.
Since a lot of people say that “roid rage” is a negative symptom of anabolic steroids, numerous ill-informed legislative suggestions were made. Certain such proposals have been made in Oregon. It has been proposed to introduce several new laws. According to these new laws, if any police officers  have used deadly force, or if police force resulted in some injuries, they must be tested for steroids.
The same proposal was made by the politician Lew Frederick in Oregon House of Representatives. Those police officials who have used deadly force will be investigated, tested for some drugs and their mental health will be also evaluated.
In fact, it is unclear why police officials who apply deadly force will be tested for steroids. Can intake of steroids prove that application of deadly force was unjustified? Is it claimed that steroids due to aggressiveness can make police officers unable to make fair decisions?
Investigation team is a proper idea for police officers that apply deadly force. But steroid use should not be taken in consideration here. Positives or negatives for steroids can’t determine whether deadly force has been used appropriately or not. It doesn’t matter a police official has taken steroids, aspirin or only consumed juice.
Thus, it is possible to make a conclusion that legislators turn to be captivated by hysteria connected with “roid rage” of anabolic steroids.  It goes without saying that illegal administration of steroids by police officers has to be a legitimate concern. But it is not said about uncontrolled aggressive behavior as a principal reason in this case. The problem is that illegal usage of controlled substances by police officers makes them vulnerable to corruption and the black market of steroids.  Such police officers may compromise.
