Sports nutrition stores offer for sale not only real nutrition supplements. They label steroidal substances as dietary supplements and sell them. But authorities put efforts to control and avoid sale of steroids as if they were just supplements. That’s why clerks of sports nutrition shops distribute steroids illegally. Those that come to such stores are often informed that they may purchase steroids as well.
But these factors are known not only by steroid users but also by police officers. So, law enforcements conduct undercover investigations in order to bust sports nutrition stores that offer steroids for sale. Clerks should know that if a client desires to purchase steroids, arranging a deal outside the shop, he must be an undercover police officer. That’s why those who are involved in illegal operations connected with sale of steroids should be quite cautious to avoid legal problems. Although they know about these aspects, they make typical mistakes that lead to arrests, charges and prison.
Let present a story about a clerk of the General Nutrition Centers (GNC) store located in East Walpole (Massachusetts). George Touma sold anabolic steroids along with nutrition supplements. When police officers were informed about illegal operations of this person, they began to conduct an investigation. The investigation lasted circa a month and was led by The Walpole Police Department.
An undercover agent came to the shop frequently and bought dietary supplements. He was talking to the clerk quite often. So, a friendly relation was established. Finally they discussed about steroids. The undercover agent said that he would like to buy steroids. So, he agreed to obtain 2 vials of steroids from George Touma. The officer had to give $300 for the medicines. The deal was arranged outside the store. After the purchase had taken place police officers arrested the clerk.
As a result, the clerk of the GNC was accused of illegal possession and sale of anabolic steroids.
